Alice Myers Philpott

December 16, 1937 — August 16, 2025

Alice Myers Philpott, born on December 16, 1937, in Downers Grove, Illinois, to Irwin and Irene Grabowski,  passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025. She was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with love, family, and a passion for family that echoed through every corner of her world.

As a devoted wife and mother, Alice poured her heart into her family, steadfastly supporting them throughout her life. She was married to Alan Myers and later to Paul Philpott, both of whom cherished her warmth and kindness. Alice’s legacy, however, also includes the love she shared for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her daughters, Patti Croke and Melanie Williamson, took great pride in their mother’s generous spirit and unwavering support. She is also survived by her beloved son-in-laws, Ed Croke and Steve Williamson,  and her cherished grandchildren: Katie Croke, Eddie Croke, Britney Kiehn (husband Kris), Parker Williamson, and Logan Williamson, along with 4 Great Grandchildren, a future granddaughter-in-law and a future great granddaughter-in-law along with 3 step-brothers,  who will carry her memory in their hearts.

Alice's journey through life was punctuated by her eager pursuit of knowledge; she earned her GED while pregnant with her first child, a testament to her dedication to education. Her career began as a Realtor during her first years of marriage, but her true passion thrived when she became the proud owner of the Good Old Days Antique and Gift Store. This endeavor allowed her to express her love for antique collecting while sharing her joyful spirit with others.  She was extremely proud of becoming a Master Gardener in her later years.

Holidays were a time of great joy for Alice. Each occasion was transformed into a grand family gathering, beautifully decorated and overflowing with delectable food. Known for her kindness and welcoming nature, she had a unique ability to make everyone feel at ease, turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Her affinity for parties, particularly Christmas celebrations, became a hallmark of her personality, surrounded by family and friends who cherished those togetherness.

Alice's varied interests included gardening, cooking, decorating, knitting, painting, and sewing—each a reflection of her artistic spirit and her care for others. Her proudest accomplishments included owning and operating her successful antique and gift store and refurbishing a Victorian mansion in Oregon, where she could share her love for history and beauty with those she held dear.

Her family will honor Alice with a funeral service on September 13, 2025, at the Little Church of the Flowers in Glendale, California, where friends and loved ones can come together to celebrate her remarkable life.
