Alice Susette Mock

Alice Susette Timaio Mock, known as Susette in her youth and Sue as an adult, was born in Kansas, July 19th, 1944, an only child to parents Antonio Timaio from Sicily, Italy and Wanita Meek, from Kansas. As a child, Sue's family moved often as her father was in the Army, spending many years in California, and eventually residing in Warsaw, Missouri, where she attended Warsaw High School, graduating in 1962.

At 18 years old, Sue moved back to the Los Angeles area of California where she always had fond memories, loved the weather and the city. She worked as a secretary at Bank of America in Inglewood, CA, before being hired as a Legal Secretary in Los Angeles. Sue obtained her Paralegal training at USC in the 1970's and worked for 40+ years in both Criminal and Litigation Law in Los Angeles, Century City, and Beverly Hills – a job she very much enjoyed.

In the early 60's, Sue met her future husband, Kenneth Mock, while Christmas caroling at St. John's Catholic Church. Married in 1964, they had three children; Michele (daughter), Cary (son), and Christopher (son). She was a devoted and loving mother. The family relocated from Inglewood to Torrance, CA, where they lived for over 35 years. She was a young mother, vivacious, fun-loving, enjoyed entertaining, and always had a sense for adventure – she could tell you many great stories about her days in Los Angeles. Hobbies included – collecting antique dolls and tea sets, designing and furnishing a Victorian dollhouse, reading mystery novels, and watching her favorite TV show, "Murder She Wrote."

In 2009, Sue retired and sold the family home, relocating to Chula Vista, CA, near San Diego to live with her daughter Michele. She was strong and courageous, fighting two types of cancer until her death on February 9, 2017. She passed away peacefully at home, age 72, surrounded by her loving children, just as she had hoped.

Sue Mock is survived by her three devoted children, Michele Lynn Mock, 52; Cary Michael Mock, 47; and Christopher Brandon Mock, 46.

Ceremony in her honor will be held on February 25, 2017.
