Alexander Lusemaka Tuliau died peacefully at his residence on March 19, 2015 in Long Beach, California at the age of 52.
Alexander was born on March 1, 1963 in Honolulu, Hawaii to his parents, Lusemaka and Naomi Tuliau. After moving to California, he proudly graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in 1981. After high school, he graduated with Honors from the Trade & Travel Career Institute in 1987. He married Sope Epenesa in 1991. After marriage, The Tuliau's decided to remain in Long Beach, California, and make it their permanent place of residence. Over the years, the couple welcomed four children into their home. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, and driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Alexander was a motivated entrepreneur; working for MACRO-PRO INC for 20 years as a process server technician, he returned to his high school that he loved so much as a football and track & field coach, he was the leader of his church island reggae band, and a strong mentor for the youth of his church and his community.
Alexander was accomplished in all that he did. He was a dedicated individual who loved his family, his community, and his church. He was passionate about giving back to the youth by educating and becoming a very strong mentor. He was an active and dedicated member of his church, Long Beach Fourth Congregational Christian Church, where his father was the Pastor.
Alexander is survived by his mother, Naomi Tuliau; his wife, Sope Epenesa Tuliau; his children, Lusemaka Xander Tuliau, Alexis Naomi Tuliau, Venice Epenesa Tuliau, and Pearlnaiah Aitufa Tuliau; his brother Andrew and family; his brother Christopher and family. He is preceded in death by his father, Reverend Elder Lusemaka Tuliau and his brother Ivan Tuliau.
Family services and visitation will be held at 6:30pm on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Long Beach Fourth Congregational Christian Church located at 201 East Market Street, Long Beach, California 90805. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the same location. Burial services will be immediately following at Forest Lawn - Cypress, 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, California 90630.
