Alexander William Lingad

February 10, 1984 — April 13, 2015

Alexander William Lingad, 31, born on February 10, 1984 in Los Angeles, California, passed away April 13, 2015. He resided in Inglewood, California, at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California.

Alexander is loved dearly by his 6 younger siblings, parents, son, family and friends.

"He was a son and a father. He loved playing World of Warcraft and dance games, and frequented almost every arcade in Los Angeles with his friends. He loved to cook for groups, and was especially proud of his ribs. He was a bright man, who loved to hang out with his friends.

He had a sense of humor and wit that was keen on exaggeration and a laugh that was infectious.

He was an aspiring DJ and producer; he even created a few mixes for summertime, and was actively working on original music. Often he would bring me into his room to listen to a new chord, or drum sample he put together.

He was the active caretaker and creator of the SoCal summer Bonfires after a time, and would usually be the first person on the beach at 5am to secure a bonfire pit for everyone, sometimes sleeping in the sand to make sure we had a spot.

Many people will remember his unforgettable birthday celebrations at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, where dozens of people would show up from every walk of life and spend a few hours all talking with each other and having a good time.

And speaking of good times, Alex would also host other peoples birthdays at Manna Korean BBQ, where he would celebrate there with "champagne showers" on his dime, just to ensure his friends had as great a time as possible.

Alex never made that much money, and he spent almost all of it on his son and his friends, leaving very little for himself. He lived frugally in this manner, and he does not have many physical items; rather the memories he has enabled for the hundreds of people who have crossed paths with him are surely more valuable, as they are completely irreplaceable. His dry laugh, his guest DJing in Las Vegas and in Los Angeles.

He loved playing Street Fighter 3, even back in the Keystone Bowling days, while everyone else was playing In the Groove or hanging out he would never shy away from a challenge in 3rd Strike, and always had fun with the game, never too much salt to people who beat him, and he was humble when he won."

On the morning of April 12, 2015 Alexander unexpectedly suffered from cardiac arrest and paramedics were unable to revive him in time.
