Alejandra Salcido

Alejandra Salcido, 96, beloved grandmother passed away on October 14, 2017 surrounded by her family. Alejandra was born on April 24, 1921 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Mexico to Cesearia Lujan and Epifanio Salcido. She is survived by her children, Martha Elena Corona and Carlos Mario Salcido. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings, and two grandchildren.
Alejandra immigrated to the United States in the early 1950's. She raised her children alongside her mother, Cesearia Lujan de Salcido and her sister, Maria Salcido in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, Texas before settling down in Long Beach, California. She moved to California with her son, Carlos Salcido and Martha Corona in early 1970's to be close to her family and help raise her grandchildren.
Alejandra was an active member of the Guadalupana's at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Long Beach, CA. Her sister, Maria Salcido, joined her in the late 1970's, both stayed active by volunteered in the church and being surrounded by family. They lived together until the passing of her sister from cancer in 1984. Alejandra had a strong belief in the power of prayer, which always provided her with God's comfort.
Alejandra loved God and passed her faith along to her family. She loved to sing, laugh, travel, spend time with family and was always surrounded by family. She attended most family events and was a big part of her families lives. Her family will sorely miss their "abuelita", "granny goose" and their "querida madre".
John 14: 1-4
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."


Alejandra Salcido, 96, amada abuela falleció el 14 de octubre de 2017 rodeada de su familia. Alejandra nació el 24 de abril de 1921 en Nuevo Casas Grandes, México, en Cesearia Lujan y Epifanio Salcido. Le sobreviven sus hijos, Martha Elena Corona y Carlos Mario Salcido. Le sobreviven 7 nietos, 13 bisnietos y 5 tataranietos, bisnietos. Le preceden en la muerte sus padres, 10 hermanos y dos nietos.
Alejandra emigró a los Estados Unidos a principios de la década de 1950. Ella crió a sus hijos junto a su madre, Cesearia Lujan de Salcido y su hermana, Maria Salcido en Cuidad Juárez, México y El Paso, Texas, antes de establecerse en Long Beach, California. Se mudó a California con su hijo, Carlos Salcido y Martha Corona a principios de los años 70 para estar cerca de su familia y ayudar a criar a sus nietos.
Alejandra era un miembro activo de la Guadalupana en la Iglesia Católica de San Mateo en Long Beach, California. Su hermana, Maria Salcido, se unió a ella a fines de la década de 1970, ambos se mantuvieron activos al ser voluntarios en la iglesia y estar rodeados por su familia. Vivieron juntos hasta el fallecimiento de su hermana en 1984. Alejandra tenía una fuerte creencia en el poder de la oración, que siempre le proporcionaba la comodidad de Dios.
Alejandra amaba a Dios y transmitió su fe a su familia. Le encantaba cantar, reír, viajar, pasar tiempo con la familia y siempre estaba rodeada de familia. Asistió a la mayoría de los eventos familiares y fue una gran parte de la vida de su familia. Su familia echará muchísimo de menos a su "abuelita", "abuela ganso" y su "querida madre".
