Alden Clifford Slope
November 9, 1923 — February 5, 2017
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy during Pacific theater operations.
He was firefighter with the Long Beach Fire Department and retired in 1976; his uncle also served with the Long Beach Fire Department. Cliff was an agricultural inspector with the state of California. He also was an active leader in the Boy Scouts during the 1960s & 1970s.
He had one sister, Evelyn, who preceded him in death. One living cousin, Dodi, shared many happy memories with the Slope family.
He is survived by two great grandsons and two great granddaughters, two grandsons and one granddaughter.
He was a father to two sons and one daughter.
He and his wife were blessed to be married for 69 years.
He touched so many lives and he will be dearly be missed.
