Albert James Vetter

Albert James Vetter, 75, born on March 7, 1939 in Queens, New York passed away January 18, 2015. He resided in Canoga Park, California at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California.

Al was raised in New York where he grew up loving sports. He played baseball whenever he could and caught the eye of pro ball scouts, but due to family obligations was unable to sign up. Al worked in aviation, employed at Butler Aviation, and also worked in construction, which included work on the Twin Towers.

In the 1970's Al moved to California and worked at Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank where he was assigned to manufacturing the Lockheed Ventura aircraft. Al also spent several years self-employed, doing specialty painting on homes and apartments. During the 90's Al moved into automotive service and retail sales. It was then that he met and married his wife, Connie. Al and Connie lived in Canoga Park where they both retired.

Al's hobbies included bowling for many years, where he met many friends, bowled in several leagues, enjoyed going to tournaments, and won numerous trophies. He liked to joke around and laugh with friends and strangers alike. Al was an outgoing friendly guy, loved by many!

Al passed away on January 18 following a prolonged illness. He will be greatly missed, especially by his wife Connie, who loves him with an eternal love. Services will be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills on January 30th. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Northridge Hospital Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or American ASPCA.
