Albert Louis "Al" Lynn, Sr., age 77 of Newton, NH passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Friday, February 19, 2016. He was born in Malden, MA on October 23, 1938 the son of the late Edward N. and Regina M. (Belanger) Lynn. Albert's family moved to Newton, NH when he was 3 years old. He was raised in Newton and resided there for the remainder of his life. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard aboard the WHEC 372 Humboldt where he maintained the function of the area lighthouses. He was later employed by AVCO and TEXTRON Industries as an electronics field research engineer. He had also owned and operated Lynn Construction Company for many years.
Throughout his lifetime, he thoroughly enjoyed nature and animals. He also was an amateur photographer who developed his own film. He liked riding motorcycles and taking boat trips to go whale and dolphin watching. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on the pond that he made on his property. In his retirement, he also built a sawmill on his property. He would mill planks for special projects for his family. His greatest enjoyment however, was gathering around the table with his family and friends in the home that he built and generously shared with many others throughout the years.
Al was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Janice Anne (Ronan) Lynn in 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Peggy A. Parah and husband, Alfred of Sandown, NH. His sons; Albert L. Lynn, Jr. and Arthur R. Lynn, both of Newton, NH. His grandchildren; Kevin Aloisio, Carrie Backus, Samantha Lynn, Nicholas Lynn and Gavin Lynn. Five great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive him. He was also predeceased by his son, Bruce E. Lynn in 2006.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mr. Lynn's Life Celebration on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. Funeral Services will take place at the funeral home at 7:15 PM.
