Al D Salinas

Al D. Salinas, 94, born on June 16, 1924 in Tarlac, Philippines, passed away Tuesday November 27, 2018. He resided in Westminster, California at the time of his passing. His wife Florence of 70 years; son - Al & wife - Diane; daughter - Marilyn & her daughter - Mercedes; along with Cousin Benny Adi were with Al at time of passing. Al received a beautiful anointment, blessing and prayers from Father Joe at 1pm. Al passed to the Lord at exactly 1:30pm.


Al is survived by his Wife - Florence; Son - Al; Daughter - Marilyn; 11 Grandchildren - Keilani, Keoni, Andrea, Gina, Brett, Mercedes, Sean, Wesley, Andrew, Aaron, and Monique; along with 11 great-grandchildren. Also Al preceded in death by his sister - Cristeta Salinas Obcena is survived by her daughter (Cousin to Al & Marilyn) - Cecile Obcena Deogracias and her family. As well Al's Best Friend Bill Arcalas; wife - Sofia, and their son/God-Son to Al - Edwin and his family; and their daughter/God-daughter to Florence - Liz.

Al was preceded in death by his three daughters; Gloria McGee, Nora Rivera, and Lillian Robinson.

Al adored his family and was a loving Dad of his children and grand-children. He was proud to be in the Navy, only to re-enlist several times. He was very creative and artistic in painting and building stuff and/or what he perceived as art pieces for/around the house. He loved the Game of Golf. Florence and him shared the thrills of being Laker fans. Al will be missed for his love of life and in belting out a song or two.

Visitation Services on Wednesday, 12/05 from 4:00pm - 8pm will take place in the Devotion Room at Forest Lawn Memorial - 4471 Lincoln Avenue in Cypress, California - Refreshments will be served (across the hall)

Funeral Services on Thursday, 12/06 Noon at St. Bonaventure Church - 16400 Springdale St in Huntington Beach, California

Cemetery Services on Thursday, 12/06 approximately 1:45pm at Forest Lawn Memorial, Cypress, California

Celebration of Al's Life on Thursday, 12/06 following the Cemetery Services approximately 3pm - Restaurant-of-Location Cards will be passed out at these Services
