Agripina Acosta Sagisi

September 4, 1933 — February 5, 2015

Agripina "Pina" Acosta Sagisi, age 81, passed away at Los Alamitos Medical Center in California on Thursday, February 5, 2015.

Born September 4, 1933, to Marcelo and Eugenia Acosta, Agripina grew up in Bacarra, Illocos Norte in the Philippines. She attended college and graduated with a degree in Home Economics. On March 4, 1954, she married Modesto "Jamin" Sagisi, and fourteen years later, Modesto began their move to America. Shortly after, Agripina and their children joined him.

Together, Agripina and Modesto devoted themselves to pursuing the best life they could for their family. They worked hard and saved, bought their "Sunset" home in Santa Maria, California, and sent their kids to universities. Agripina was in charge of the household finances and worked as a foods packer for over thirty years.

An avid crocheter, Agripina enjoyed making clothing, doilies for her home, and scarves for her grandchildren. She was also a jewelry enthusiast, with more than fifty pieces in her collection. After retirement, she explored a newfound joy of travel, visiting places like Hong Kong, Mexico, and her home in the Philippines. Most importantly, Agripina enjoyed being in the company of friends and family.

Agripina will be especially remembered for her strong will, her unwavering spirit, and the generosity she showed everyone she knew.

She is survived by her brother, Marino Acosta; her sister, Norma Ganir; her children, Rudy, Jose, Benjamin, Lily, and Myrna; and her twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Agripina was preceded in death by her husband, Modesto.

Services will be held on Sunday, February 15th, in the Hope Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, California. The viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the memorial program will begin at 3 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome.
