A beloved husband, devoted father and loving grandfather and son, Agapito Ferrer Beza, 86, who lived in Westminster for 40 years, passed away on August 11, 2015 in Garden Grove, CA. He was born August 6, 1929 in Manila, Philippines, the seventh child born and first to survive of eleven to Enrique Apostol Beza and Maria Pablo Ferrer. His younger departed siblings were Prudencia, Manuel and Enriqueta.

In San Antonio, Zambales, he attended Teodoro R. Yangco Elementary and High School.

Inspired to follow in his father's footsteps as a Captain of a ship who traveled from Manila to the Visayan islands, he attended Philippine Nautical School.

In 1954, he enlisted with the US Navy knowing that it would give him an opportunity to travel the world. CPO Beza served a long and illustrious career in the US Navy. He served on several Navy ships: USS Lexington, USS Topeka, USS Higbee, USS Benner, and USS Cunningham. He was awarded six Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Expeditionary Medal for Taiwan Area of Operations, Viet Nam Service Medal, and Honorable Discharge button. He belonged to the Navy Fleet Reserve. He also served during the Viet Nam and Korea wars.

Agapito and Elisea were married at Lourdes Church in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines on November 19, 1960 and were blessed with 54 1/2 blissful years together with two daughters and five grandsons.

Following his retirement from the Navy on December 29, 1975, he worked at VA Hospital, Long Beach, CA in the Finance Department, but due to health reasons, in 1977 he retired from his civilian job.

He is survived by his wife, Elisea Castillo Beza, two daughters Jane Beza Garcia and Lorraine Beza Camire, son-in-law Chris Camire, and five grandsons: Jonathan, Christopher, Daniel, Brandon and Matthew.
