Fremont, NH: Adrien G. "George"' Valcourt, age 72, of Fremont, NH and formerly of Haverhill, MA and Sacramento, CA, died Friday, September 21, 2012, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, NH.
Born in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Adrian H. & Felice (Robillard) Valcourt, he graduated from Haverhill Trade School with the Class of 1957. He entered the United States Air Force in 1959 and served for twenty'six years until he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1985. Highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, he was receipient of the Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Force Comendation Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Vietnam Service Medal with six bronze Service Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and several humanitarian service awards. After his retirement, he worked as a Master Electrician for the Sacramento School Department at the Los Rios Community College from 1985 to 2000.
Mr. Valcourt was a member of All Saints Church, Haverhill, MA. An avid Patriots and Nascar fan, he enjoyed mowing his lawn, puttering around in his yard and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz"' (Perrault) Valcourt, two daughters, Deana M. Perrault and her husband, Joe Livingstone of Raymond, NH, Amanda E. Robinson and her husband, Joshua Plunkett of Brentwood, NH; six grandchildren, Ashley Vance, Erin Vance, Meadow Livingstone, Alexis Plunkett, Brianna Plunkett and Joshua Plunkett; one niece, Kathleen Berry; three nephews, Kevin Regan, Keith Regan, and Kerry Regan, a sister-in-law and her husband, Linda and Ronald Williams of Rochester, NH, and a brother-in-law and his wife, Robert and Theresa Perrault of Haverhill, MA; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Regan who died in 2005 and two nephews, Craig Regan and Corey Regan.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, from 4 to 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral will begin on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at 9 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in All Saints Church, Haverhill, MA. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill, MA.
