Adolfo Granados passed away on January 30, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born February 27, 1947, in Bogotá, Colombia, to Roberto and Maria Antonia Granados.
Adolfo is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Granados; his children, Adolfo Granados, Jr. (Myrna), Robert Granados (Deborah), Alex Granados (Dorian), Henry Granados (Maria), and Liza Marie Granados (Francis); his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his dear sister, Celmira Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of blessed memory, Elena Granados, and his dear siblings Ana Lilia Granados, Roberto Granados, Rosalba Arevalo, and Pedro Granados.
Adolfo’s life was the immigrant story—a man who left his homeland in pursuit of a better future for his family. Armed with his wits, determination, relentless optimism, and $100 that he borrowed, he found opportunity in the factories of New York, where a skilled cobbler was willing to take on the challenges of the Big Apple.
Through multiple jobs and many years of hard work, Adolfo eventually made it possible to bring his family to America. They settled in Los Angeles, where Adolfo owned a purse factory and multiple shoe repair shops. He ultimately pared down to his one shop, Paris Shoe Repair on Wilshire and Bundy, where he worked until his retirement in 2016. He moved to Las Vegas in 2020.
All of Adolfo’s tough choices and perseverance paid off for him and his family, allowing him to give his children the opportunity to build meaningful lives and become successful, productive citizens. It also allowed him to realize his dream of traveling the world. He was lucky enough to take many trips throughout his lifetime, traveling within much of Asia and Europe and to his native Colombia. His last big trip was taken just last year to Turkey and Greece through Colombia with his wife, sister-in-law and her husband.
Adolfo leaves behind an extraordinary legacy. He will be remembered for his incredible work ethic, humility, the value he placed on his word, his friendship, his warmth of heart, and always—his love of chocolate.
