Adelfo De Leon

November 27, 1949 — November 29, 2024

Long Beach, CA

Adelfo De Leon, affectionately known as "Al" or "Del," embarked on his earthly journey on November 27, 1949, and gracefully transcended this world on November 29, 2024. His legacy, infused with kindness, unwavering support, and a generous spirit, will remain forever etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have crossed his path.

With a rich tapestry of life, Adelfo's journey began at the University of Perpetual Help, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminology. He was one of the leaders of Adjutores Dei and a member of Alpha Phi Omega - Rho Chapter. He devoted the early years of his career to the family brokerage and trucking business. His relentless pursuit of excellence led him to serve nobly as a member of the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Air Force. A true public servant, Adelfo transitioned into the role of an ACP Commandant, Security Coordinator, and Discipline Officer, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless students whom he inspired to become their best selves.

Upon migrating to the United States, he continued his dedicated service as a security officer until his retirement in 2020. His commitment to service never waned, as he became an active member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Lucy Church, further emphasizing his devotion to community and faith. In addition to his accomplishments, his regular blood and platelet donations to the American Red Cross, exemplified his unwavering commitment to the welfare of others.

Adelfo's spirit was multifaceted; he savored the simple joys of life through his hobbies. Gardening brought him tranquility, while his enthusiasm for firing added a spark to his character. Known for his delightful humor and wit, he left an imprint of joy wherever he roamed. After all, laughter often accompanied his love for “general” cleaning and, of course, sharing meals with family and friends.

A man deeply cherished by his family, he is mourned by his siblings, Baby, Thelma, Zita, Os, Pete, and Tessie, his beloved wife for 45 years, Malou, and his children Apple & Peej, Cherry & Cholo, Peaches, Chico & Catoy, Banana, Lloyd & Ruby, and Alyssa. Each of these dear souls carries forth Adelfo's values and teachings into the world. Adding to his joyful legacy are his grandchildren: Lorenz, Leila, Aedan, Beatriz, Benedict, Cyrus, Cale, C.A., Liam, Caleb, Yara, Lucas, and Charlotte, who will surely encapsulate his spirit and love throughout their lives.

As family and friends gather to celebrate the life of Adelfo De Leon, they will recall the warmth of his embrace, the generosity of his soul, and the profound sense of humor that brightened their days. His visitation will be held on December 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Patriots Chapel, located at 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630.

His remains will then be brought to the Philippines, where a memorial service will take place at Holy Trinity Memorial Chapel - Sucat Parañaque, followed by an interment service at Manila Memorial Park - Sucat Parañaque (date & time TBA).

As we gather in remembrance, we honor the lasting impact he made through a life beautifully lived.
