Adelaida was born on December 16, 1927 to Melecio Pilapil Sr. and Socorro Manuel in Sorsogon, Philippines—the 4th of 11 children.
Adelaida was a 1st grade teacher at Kawal Elementary School in Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon where she met Jose (Joe) Dollentas in 1950. Adelaida and Joe married in September of 1950. They went on to have 8 children—Joel, Danilo, Josefina, Ruben, Joselito, Rene, Jocelyn, and Melecio.
In 1970, Adelaida migrated to America to join Joe, followed by their children. Adelaida worked in accounting at May Company department store.
Adelaida loved cooking, gardening, and playing bingo. Her favorite song was Midnight Serenade. Her favorite place to go on vacation was Las Vegas, where she played nickel and dollar slots.
Adelaida is survived by her 8 children, 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
